Law Enforcement Performance & Assessment Course

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This 3-day program is designed to elevate law enforcement officers’ marksmanship, weapon handling, decision-making, and performance through a progressive training model:

Day 1: Pistol Foundations, Performance Standards, & The Why

Day 2: Carbine Foundations, Performance Standards, & The Why

Day 3: The Operator Performance Assessment, Standards, & How To Get Our Teams To Achieve The Highest Standards

The curriculum emphasizes repeatable fundamentals, measurable standards, and real-world application, aligning with Tactical Cowboy’s philosophy.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this program, students will:

Demonstrate improved pistol and carbine marksmanship fundamentals

Execute efficient weapon manipulations under real world time constraints

Apply mobility, positional shooting, and target transitions

Perform under elevated heart rate and cognitive stress

Meet or exceed established performance standards

Exhibit safe and professional weapons handling at all times

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT PER 3 DAY COURSE

(Adjust as needed per agency SOP)

Individual Equipment

Duty pistol with holster (duty or approved retention holster)

Carbine platform rifle (AR-15 or department-issued)

Minimum:

5 pistol magazines

5 rifle magazines

Weapon-mounted light (pistol and/or rifle recommended)

Handheld light source

Eye & ear protection

Duty belt / load-bearing equipment

2x Tourniquets (CAT or equivalent) + 1 IFAK

Hydration system

Weather-appropriate clothing

Ammunition Requirements

Pistol: 2,000 rounds of FMJ or other steel target safe ammunition

Rifle: 2,000 rounds of FMJ or other steel target safe ammunition
